Laminate floors are incredibly easy to care for! Take the following daily care steps to help reduce the effects of everyday life indoors:
- Use entrance mats to scrape footwear before entering the home.
- Use racks for footwear removal during inclement weather.
- Keep pet nails trim to prevent scratches and brush pets frequently to reduce hair and dander.
- Place area rugs on laminate floors as another layer of protection in high-traffic areas.
DIRT & DEBRIS
Removing dirt and debris from your laminate floors effectively is the number one key to preserving a pristine appearance. Sweep with a gentle bristle broom or dust-mop as frequently as possible to remove particles before they become abrasive and scratch the laminate surface. Check with your laminate manufacturer’s warranty before investing in a robot vacuum cleaner.
SPILLS
When spills occur on your laminate floors, you can clean them! Simply gently wipe up any solid material with a spoon and paper towels. Then use a dry, clean cloth or paper towels to wipe up the spill, starting from the perimeter and working towards the center. Use a gentle laminate-specific cleaner to spot treat as needed. When wet mopping or using a Swiffer WetJet system, ensure a dry surface afterward.
